Finished. Oil on box canvas. 750x500mm.   

 

"Beneath the Cliffs" Where the waves crash with a thunderous roar, throwing spray high in the air, where the light catches the droplets making them sparkling with the colours of the rainbow. Whilst the seabed is being drawn back out to sea, with the pebbles scraping and banging together in the turmoil. Then all goes quite on the seabed, has the next wave comes in, to start the process again.

1/ Started this one today.

Oil on box canvas. 75x50 cm.

This one is going to be a seascape, with towering cliffs and the sea crashing below.

I have done the under painting mapping out the basic layout, sea, light, waves etc.

Some of this paint is thick, so it will take a week to dry.

2/ Added more lays. colours of light hitting the spray, purple, blue, yellow. Giving the middle of the painting more depth.

Also put more texture in the left-hand side of the sea, whilst adding little more to the right-hand side of the sea.

1/ Finished.

Title;  "First signs of autumn"

Today I added colour and depth, With more texture in the trees and colour, with light coming through the trees. 

The light in the centre of the trees reflecting on the water as burnt out a little bit.(sorry) the computer could  not take the soft change of colour in that area. 

Reflections in the water turned out well, with the colours of the trees, light and water. Again a little burnt out with the computer.

3/ Now finished my take on Monets painting "The Magpie" With a cottage we lived in, in the country.     

This is an oil painting 700 x 500mm.   I hope you enjoyed watching this come together.                       

This painting with the colours will go well in our newly painted entrance hall.

My latest painting. A bit more abstract than I normally do. But I enjoyed it and are pleased with the finished painting.

The painting is where I spent my childhood. It is Saltaire, West Yorkshire. My family recognise it. So my memory is OK.   

This is the very first painting I did with my left hand. It took me some time. I practiced different texture. how to use brushes (which was difficult) etc. I found how to apply paint in different ways.
