Phase 3. Finished.

Finished today by putting highlights in the sky and finishing the foreground. Using a pallet knife.

With using a cloth with paint on gives me the colour blending I like plus the lays of colours and texture, pressing the cloth on the canvas harder or lighter to give me the colour or translucency I am looking for. The small pallet knife gives me the detail I put in.

This gives me such pleasure that I can still paint, when I once thought I would never paint again with losing the use of my righthand.

Phase 2

Today I built up further lays on the painting below. Again using a cloth to apply the paint by dipping the cloth into the paint and applying it to canvas. I sometimes I dip the cloth into 2 or 3 colours at a time and mix the colours on the canvas. I do this because I can not use brushes with my left hand with any dexterity to paint. But I am pleased with the outcome I am now getting. I do use a pallet knife to add texture and detail.

Phase 1.

Started this painting today.

50cmx50cm. oil on box canvas.

Did the under painting and plan the painting and colours. Finished with a pallet knife to get texture and build up more colour.
